No.45 Medium and Heavy Steel Plateis a high-strength medium carbon quenched and tempered steel with certain plasticity and toughness, high strength, and good cutting performance. It can obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties by quenching and tempering treatment, but its hardenability is poor and water quenching is prone to cracking. Small and medium-sized parts can obtain good toughness and high strength after quenching and tempering. Large parts (section size exceeding 80mm) should be normalized, but the welding performance of 45 steel is low. Although it can be welded, the welded parts should be preheated before welding and annealed after welding to eliminate welding stress. 45 # is a high-quality carbon structural steel, corresponding to Japanese standard S45C, American standard 1045, and German standard C45. Its characteristics are higher strength and deformation resistance compared to ordinary A3 steel.
