U-shaped Steel

As the main type of steel used to manufacture retractable metal supports for tunnels, U-shaped steel is widely used both domestically and internationally. However, due to inconsistent understanding of the performance and requirements of U-shaped steel itself, the cross-sectional shape, geometric parameters, and materials of U-shaped steel vary from country to country.
The main types of U-shaped steel produced in China are 18U, 25U, 29U, and 36U. The first two types of products are from the 1960s and belong to the waist positioning category; The latter two are products from the 1980s, belonging to ear positioning. U18 is rarely produced due to its low load-bearing capacity.
